Do policemen have extra priviledges? September 2, 2007

My way to school and work is easy. I normally take the MRT (Metro Rail Transit) and then ride a jeepney to office or school. Today is not an exemption.

The MRT normally have the 1st train reserved for women, children and senior citizens. I suppose there are exemptions like those who work for MRT. I just don’t know if the exemptions include policemen.

My elder sister told me that government officials doing official business probably have that priviledge after all MRT is somewhat owned by the government.

So much for being strict with the rules. Policemen are guys and even though they are reporting for work and are working for the government, they shouldn’t have to ride in the 1st train. I even saw some of them sitting on the seats whereas there was a pregnant woman on board and they didn’t even stand up and give her their sitting place. Another woman stood up and gave up her seat. Now that is what i can being a gentlewoman as oppose to policemen being gentlemen. As it is there are many government workers riding the MRT / LRT everyday. How come they don’t get that special priviledge too? No wonder policemen have bad reputations.

Just musing..
